- Secondary: Inlet loadings of up to 500mg/ltr for suspended solids and BOD reduction/removal.
- Tertiary Polishing for suspended solids and BOD reduction/removal.
- Pre-Filtration for UV to meet bathing water directive consent.
- Replacement or retrofit of sand filters to meet consent limits.
Performance:
Data from deployed systems has demonstrated:
- Reduction of Suspended Solids by over 85%,
- Reduction of BOD by over 65%,
- Reduction of COD by over 55%
- Increased UV kill
Example: Luss Waste Water Treatment Works
Issue:
Large fluctuation on loading of the Waste Water Treatment Works at Luss, Scotland during the peak holiday periods causing discharge consent failure due to shadowing in the UV disinfection system.
Solution:
- Spruce Red 45 containerised solution installed post-SAF, pre-UV
- Flow of 14 litres per second
Results:
- SS reduction of up to 86%
- BOD Reduction of up to 89%
- After UV E Coli / coliform reduction 100%
